OLD SKOOL

First known as the Vans #36, the Old Skool debuted in 1977 with a unique new addition: a random doodle drawn by founder Paul Van Doren, and originally referred to as the “jazz stripe.” Today, the famous Vans Sidestripe has become the unmistakable—and instantly recognizable—hallmark of the Vans brand.

Constructed with durable suede and canvas uppers in a range of fresh colorways, the Old Skool pays homage to heritage while ensuring that this low top, lace-up shoe remains as iconic as ever. It also features re-enforced toe caps, supportive padded collars, and signature rubber waffle outsoles.

Editor's Review

Vans Old Skool Canvas Shoes are an innovation that pays tribute to the classics. Old school canvas shoes first appeared in 1977, and random graffiti drawn became the brand logo. The Old Skool Canvas Shoes use durable suede and canvas uppers, which is very comfortable to wear and ready for every day.

  • I will buy again and again ! The fit is sad true to size and my whole family loves vans especially the pretty bright ones! We are looking for a pretty light purple color.

  • They are comfortable, stylish and everyone loves them. We buy Vans all the time and love every pair! There is no way to go wrong with them!

  • This is the 3rd time I have purchased these shoes for my son. He loves them, loves that they go with most everything he wears, and loves how comfortable they are. I am sure he will have me buy them again when these wear out.

  • Still the same great shoes they always have been! I'll be back for more once I wear these pair out. I also got the shoe cleaning kit and am pleased with how well it works at keeping my vans PHRESH!

  • I used to be a huge Converse fan but after trying Vans, I was turned. Now I have several pairs of Vans, wearing them everyday--I have a high arch and they are comfy. I have found that they are tedious to clean sometimes but the material of these classics is much easier, especially if you spray them with water protectant. They do wear out somewhat quickly of you're planning to wear them every day. They usually last me about a year. I also have a large, hard to find size and it is nice to have a shoe that is trendy and what I want vs just what I can get (which is the case with other shoe brands).

  • I recently got some old skool vans and i think they are great, normally i buy the slip-on vans but i went for a change. also i was looking through some ratings and noticing in the first days people say it hurts their feet and are getting blisters, well i just want to say that it is normal for that to happen. it is just that the shoes have not been worn and are still tough so you just need to brake them in, i would recommend wearing band-aids and it will take a while till it stops, but after they will be fine. No matter what shoe you get you will still get blisters. anyway 10/10 would recommend!

  • I've been wearing my black and white old-skools everyday for years now. my dad always wore them, and bought me my first pair when I was pretty young. I kept wearing them because they're perfect. They're super comfy, they last ages, and they wear-in really well. They also have really good grip if you're a skater, and as they're not quite as popular as the Eras and the Authentics, they're kinda more original. I don't think there's actually any Cons to these shoes, as they never really get dirty, they don't stain, they don't fall apart, and they only really start to wear out after years of day to day wear. seriously, best shoes.
